The nobel metal palladium was named after the asteroid Pallas, which was discovered in the same time period as the element. The asteroid in return was named after Pallas Athena, an alternate name for the Greek goddess Athena. She is the goddess of wisdom, warfare and handicraft as well as name patron of the city of Athens.

The name zirconium is taken from the mineral zircon (ZrSiO4). The word is derived from the persischen wort zargun for „gold-like“. It is used for example in nuclear power plants as a casing for the fuel rods, or to produce bright sparks in flashbulbs and fireworks.

Bismuth is the heaviest (almost) stable element –with only a very small radioactivity. It has the highest diamagnetic property, which means that it gets repelled by magnets.

There are several possible explanation for its name.

Bis the monster likes to hang out with Mang Gang. Together they take care of the „heavy work“.

Antimony was recognized in predynastic Egypt as an eye cosmetic (kohl), in modern times it was being used to harden lead for typing letters and more recently in semiconductor electronics. Alchemist called it „lupus metallorum“ – the wolf of metals. The abbreviation Sb is derived from the latin word Stibium.

Stibia is a cunning monster who likes to plot schemes and play others off against each other. Whoever gets bewitched by her charm, can fall for her easily.

Platinum is in constant competition with gold for the most noble and most precious metal. But it hasn't always been that way: When it was first discovered in South America, it was thought to be low-grade silver. Therefore the name, which means "tiny silver" in Spanish.

If Auro (gold) is the king, what could Platinius be – the pope? However, there is a permanent rivalry between the two of them about who might be the mightiest of them all.

Plutonium is extremely poisonous and highly radioactive. It’s main use is for nuclear enerergy and in atomic bombs. His name patron, dwarf planet Pluto named after the Greek god of the underworld, was chosen wisely.

Pluto is an evil fella. Together with his partner in crime Urano, he plots to take over the world.

Uranium

Uranium is a dangerous metal. Before it was known for it’s radioactivity, people used it to die glass green. It is mostly used for atomic energy and atomic bombs. His name patron Uranus is named after the god of the sky and the father of all gods in Greek mythology.

Urano the monster wants to be the ruler over all the Elemonsters world. He believes that he’s entitled to it, for his name to begin with. He tries to reach this goal by any means. Be it by creating new monsters with nuclear fusion to form a clone army.

Gold

Gold is the undebated king of the elements. No other has such a high significance – it’s proverbial. If all the gold in the world was melted into a cube, it would be just 20 meters long.

Auro is the king of the Elemonsters world. He is dignified, majestic and very conceited.
